Dr Evangelia Papadopoulou has a first degree in Agriculture and an MSc in Crop Protection from the School of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). She was awarded her PhD working jointly in the Laboratory of Pesticide Science, AUTH, and in the Laboratory of Plant in Environmental Biotechnology, University of Thessaly (UTH) in December 2013.The title of her PhD was: Study of the behavior of selected biological and synthetic pesticides in soil and their impact on the soil microbial community. Since 2013 Evangelia has worked on different EU-funded (MSCA-IAPP-FP7), national funded projects (BIOREMEDIATOMICS - ARISTEIA II) and Industrial projects. She has 19 publications in peer reviewed journals (h-index: 10, citations: 233) and 31 publications in proceedings of national and international conferences. Evangelia was recently awarded a fellowship from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK) to investigate the in vitro and in situ activity of new potential nitrification inhibitors and identify the mechanisms driving their activity towards nitrifying organisms.
