Daniela studied Agriculture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and she has an MSc in Plant Biotechnology and a PhD in molecular plant-microbe interactions from the Agricultural University of Athens. She did her first post-doc at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (6 months) and a second post-doc at the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology in University of Thessaly (4 years & 6 months) focusing on legume-rhizobium symbiosis. Then, she joined the group of Prof. Jens Stougaard in Aarhus University (Denmark) where she studied the role of miRNAs in nodulation. She has published 14 articles in peer-reviewed journals and she has many publications in proceedings of national and international conferences. She is currently a fellow of the State Scholarship Foundation of Greece and she is studying multiple microbial interactions (rhizobia and mycorrhizal fungi) in legume roots.
