Dr. Chiara Perruchon has a first degree in Biotechnology and a Master-equivalent degree in Industrial Biotechnology both obtained at the University of Pavia, Italy. She was awarded of her PhD in June 2014 by the University of Thessaly (UTH), Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Greece, after working in the Laboratory of Plant and Environmental Biotechnology under the supervision of Dr. D. Karpouzas. The title of her PhD was: Isolation and study of bacteria able to degrade pesticides contained in the wastewaters produced by the fruit-packaging industry. Since then she has worked on EU-funded (MSCA-IAPP-FP7) working abroad (ENOVEO Ltd, France, UFZ-Leipzig) and national projects (BIOREMEDIATOMICS, ARISTEIA II). She has authored 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals (h-index: 5, Citations: 73). She is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Research Infrastructure of Synthetic Biology - Omic Engine where she works on the optimization of pesticide transformation pathways by microbes using synthetic biology and functional metagenomic approaches.
