Stavroula Makri holds a University Diploma in Biology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MSc in Application of Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Diagnostic Biomarkers from the University of Thessaly. Her postgraduate thesis focused on Bioinformatics, specifically predicting protein methylation sites using Machine Learning under the supervision of Grigoris Amoutzias. She also completed research training in Computational RNA Biology at the Buchmann Institute for Molecular Life Sciences in Frankfurt, Germany, under the guidance of Kathi Zarnack. Since July 2023, Stavroula has been working as a Bioinformatician at the University of Thessaly's Laboratory of Plant and Environmental Biology, under the supervision of Dimitrios Karpouzas. Her research is focused on risk assessment for microbial pesticides and microbiome solutions, and is a part of RATION research project, funded by the European Commission (Grant Agreement No. 101084163).
